Security at Cloudflare is a diverse, focused team committed to helping secure both Cloudflare and our customers. And the Technical Program Management team is the group that helps connect the dots between threats, risk, business needs, and innovation to execute on reducing risk at Cloudflare while partnering to build the best solutions for our customers.
About the Role
We need to solve big security challenges at scale. As a Technical Program Manager on the security team, you will:
- Work with Security, IT, engineering, infrastructure, and people teams to discover, define, and execute on security programs to reduce risk at Cloudflare
- Develop an objective and innovative approach to identifying and solving our highest priority security initiatives
- Build relationships across Cloudflare’s many teams, be an expert with communication issues, and maintain alignment to ensure decisions get made that drive our security vision forward
- Generate cadenced program updates, reports, and metrics that provide executive and board level summaries
- Synthesize ideas and concepts into executable program / project plans (technical design specifications, roadmaps, budgets, resource planning, etc)
- Lead conversations with key internal and external stakeholders to make tough decisions, prioritize requirements, estimate work efforts, define milestones, identify dependencies, evaluate and mitigate risks, triage and debug issues large and small
- Guide and develop understanding of architectural solutions, the impact to our teams and products, and drive the key communication ensure the program initiatives move forward and maintain momentum
- Understand our products deeply from a technical and business perspective; developing broad domain and technical knowledge setting us to be customer zero at Cloudflare
- Balance the focus on long term vision and roadmap versus addressing high risk tactical security issues
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- 6+ years of experience in technical program management, ideally with a focus on security
- Impeccable change management and communication skills
- Comfortable managing tight deadlines, changing priorities, and ambiguity
- Exceptional communication, presentation, organizational, and analytical skills
- Experience building out programs globally and from the ground up
- Highly experienced at cross functional dependency identification and coordination
- A knack for ensuring team(s) and stakeholders are always executing toward the outcome
- Ability to effectively prioritize and advance a large number of projects simultaneously
- Ability to speak with ease to both engineers and executives
- Foresight to understand and plan around the technical dependencies and impacts to other teams and projects
- Equally adept at strategy formulation and tactical execution
- Principled decision making based off of deep understanding of where the business is heading
- Ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions
- Experience in or desire to work with multiple time zones and with multiple cross functional teams, including travel as needed
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
- For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $168,000 - $187,000
