As an RN in Occupational Health, you will provide services to fellow caregivers and staff, helping them feel supported in all areas of wellness at the Weston Occupational Health clinic. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, assessing and coordinating patients’ discharge plans and monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ conditions. You will ensure employee compliance with Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) and other regulatory agencies to facilitate efficient, effective services and care.
This position offers growth and opportunities for professional development, including team leadership roles in quality improvement and education, as well as the chance to earn national certification as an Occupational Health RN.
A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on-site at Weston Occupational Health. You must work 48 hours within a six-week period.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Coordinate and provide direct clinical care to employees.
- Work closely with providers in relation to return to work and workers compensation.
- Focus on cost-effective ways to maximize wellness and prevent illness, disease and disability.
- Perform clinical and/or coordinate activities, such as vision screens, venipuncture, TB testing, vaccinations, COC urine collection, breath alcohol testing, audiometry, spirometry, respiratory fit testing, health assessments and blood borne pathogen counseling.
- Coordinate and track compliance programs to meet standards of regulatory agencies for the health and safety of employees.
- Support clinical manager in the oversight of clinical operations, scheduling, staffing and delegation of duties.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Certification (BLC) through the American Heart Association OR the American Red Cross
- Two years of clinical experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Two years of employee health experience with training in COC urine specimen collection, breath alcohol testing, audiology, spirometry and venipuncture skills
- Phlebotomy and recent intramuscular injections a plus
- Strong health assessment knowledge
Physical Requirements:
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
- Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those mater
