POSITION PURPOSE:Under limited supervision, the senior accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of assigned funds or assets as well as cash controls for the bank accounts associated with these funds or assets in accordance with standard GAAP accounting practices.

POSITION PURPOSE:Under limited supervision, the senior accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of assigned funds or assets as well as cash controls for the bank accounts associated with these funds or assets in accordance with standard GAAP accounting practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform month end and quarter end recurring tasks and complete related journal entries for various properties (inclusive of residential, commercial and retail properties) will review work of lower-level accountants
- Work with Property Managers: responding to issues, questions, concerns and data regarding variances related to move in/out of tenants
- Record/review cash receipts and cash movement as well as perform/review bank reconciliations
- Preparation of book transfers/wires
- Prepare or assist in management fee calculations based on understanding of property specifications and diversity of templates
- Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Perform monthly review over income statement account activity
- Prepare lender reporting package for select assets as needed
- Accumulate information and support for audits and appraisals
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2+ years’ of previous GAAP accounting experience
- Real estate/private equity experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Experience in Yardi, MRI, J. D. Edwards or comparable software.
