Reporting to the General Accounting Manager, this key position embodies a sense of urgency and a relentless pursuit of excellence, ensuring timely close submissions and filings for international operations. It's a call to those ready to accept risk as the only path to impact, supporting effective SOX internal controls and compliance with US GAAP and local statutory accounting standards.</p><p></p><p>Here's What You’ll Do:</p><p>Your key responsibilities will be:</p><ul><li><p>Serve as a key contributor in the monthly and quarterly close and financial reporting process, ensuring strategy and execution are addressed simultaneously.</p></li><li><p>Prepare accurate monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses, adhering to US GAAP and local statutory requirements.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accounting records in compliance with US and Local GAAP, actively contributing to close process improvements.</p></li><li><p>Support external financial audits and SOX 404 audits, ensuring controls are properly performed.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Your responsibilities will also include:</p><ul><li><p>Supporting department goals, including system implementations and process improvements.</p></li><li><p>Establishing and maintaining strong business partnerships with key counterparts in US and non-US based Finance Teams.</p></li><li><p>Ensuring timely interaction with the business, FP&A, and other teams for accurate transaction recording.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:</p><ul><li><p>Pursue options in parallel: Your ability to evaluate various solutions side-by-side will be critical in making informed decisions for financial reporting and process enhancements.</p></li><li><p>Act with urgency: The rapid pace of our operations necessitates swift action and dedication to impact, reflecting the significance of timely and accurate financial reporting.</p></li><li><p>Digitize everywhere possible: Leveraging technology to maximize impact, your role will involve utilizing financial systems such as SAP and Blackline efficiently.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:</p><ul><li><p>4+ years of accounting experience within the shared service/biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience required, demonstrating a history of acting with urgency and a commitment to impact.</p></li><li><p>Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, reflecting our obsession over learning.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, internal controls (SOX) required, with a willingness to accept risk and push past possible.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of life science, as well as commercial and manufacturing accounting transactions, showcasing the ability to question convention.</p></li><li><p>Experience with financial systems including SAP, Blackline, and Microsoft Suite of products, underlining our commitment to digitize everywhere possible.</p></li><li><p>Strong work ethic, self-motivated, willing to “Roll-up your sleeves” to drive and deliver results, meet deadlines, and improve processes, embodying our mindset to pivot fearlessly.</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical skills and pays attention to detail, ensuring we behave like owners at every step.</p></li><li><p>Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, necessary to remove viscosity in our processes.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams, acting with dynamic range.</p></li><li><p>Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.</p></li><li><p>A desire to be part of a high-growth, transformational company that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Moderna offers personalized benefit programs and well-being resources as unique as our global workforce so employees can do their best
