About the role

ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID vaccine (COMIRNATY) is FDA approved in the U.S for ages 12+ and transitioning to it’s second commercial year for all age groups. The U.S. launch is critical to the future success of our Vaccines BU. In addition, COVID has multiple future launches as strains may change on an annual basis. 

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Access & Performance Lead, this individual will partner with the lead and other team members to plan and execute the commercialization of COMIRNATY, including a specific focus on the plans to manage the ordering and administration patters of key accounts, partnering with customer service, Trade, and PGS to ensure the market is adequately supplied while managing the risks that come with seasonal vaccine. He/she will ensure coordination and tracking, inclusive of project management of the inventory management aspects of a launch plan, identification of cross-functional interdependencies, escalation of critical issues impacting launch/product distribution readiness and pressure testing key launch assumptions against plan. This role will also partner closely with the Command Center Lead and various Command Center Governance functions, to focus on operation execution of our fall season.

This role is a unique opportunity to demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership, as well as US marketing business acumen, driven by strong understanding of functional areas of expertise and inter-dependencies

  • Track large customer ordering patters to ensure adequate supply while limiting returns risk
  • Track vaccine administrations to support ordering adjustments, supply & forecast decisions, and track customer level trends 
  • Partner with PGS, Trade, and customer service to track trends in ordering, minimum orders, and channel dynamics to drive future distribution strategy decisions
  • Evaluate retailers & top IDNs to ensure market share is in line with contractual commitments & internal projections
  • Collaborate with finance to manage gross to net projections and opportunities 
  • Track key data points to inform strategic decisions related to contracting, supply, and promotion
  • Develop supply dashboard to prepare if allocations or order limitations are needed
  • Evaluate the market to determine if changes are needed to forecast, distribution, or strategic approach
  • Support the mRNA command center to align messaging and order/shipping obligations and ensuring the Acct mgmt teams are well educated on the processes, trends, & messaging
  • Support mRNA bottoms up forecasting, specifically around peak seasonal periods where alignment with wholesalers & customers is critical

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience required, or Master's degree and 9+ years of experience, or Ph.D./PharmD and 7+ years of experience required
  • Familiarity / experience in the US market is required
  • Strong project management, coordination skills across large groups of cross-functional teams and country teams
  • Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable
  • Demonstrated collaboration and informal influencing skills
  • Champion innovation, seek learnings from other brands and other industries to innovate and enhance launch plans
  • Ability to prioritize, manage important versus urgent and complete what’s most important
  • Be an active contributor to create and operate in an environment that continuously embraces and encourages the implementation of innovative ideas and fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years pharma experience preferred
  • Prior vaccines experience helpful, but not required
  • Prior experience in the pharmacy, retail or employer space highly desirable
  • Prior experience with US and/or global product launch excellence planning
  • Simplicity advocate; actively uses simplicity principles in personal ways of working
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to adapt and operate successfully

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Some domestic travel may be required

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $269,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
