Data Visualization Expert (PowerBI)/Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Overview

We are looking for an operations analyst with direct experience in extracting data-driven information and insights related to customer experience, customer journeys and associated internal operations to help focus action for improvement. This is a remote role. All qualified candidates MUST be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship or C2C.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data storage solutions to support BI and data visualization
• Lead and coordinate resources responsible for data readiness and extraction in context of BI and data visualization
• Establish processes for data retrieval, cleaning and conditioning for effective data analytics
• Establish processes for testing and troubleshooting data flow and platform performance
• Create and modify dashboards supporting various business units
• Identify improvement opportunities in, and determine and document associated design requirements for, data flow enhancement and effectiveness
• Support IT in system modification as required, both technically and as business owner, to achieve improved data flow designs
• Guide data migration as new analytics and/or storage systems come online
• Working with IT, ensure effective data security and backup procedures
• Document conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts and communicate with stakeholders
• Coordinate with the Data Science department to identify future needs and requirements

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in cloud architecture (I think this should likely be “business intelligence” as opposed to cloud architecture)

• In-depth understanding of database structure principles, specifically in BI/Data Visualization application environment
• Proven ability to communicate with clients at any level
• Proven ability to conduct stakeholder interviewing and document business requirements
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint
• Fluency in SQL
• Proficiency in BI tools and environments, specifically PowerBI and/or Tableau
• Proven track record of converting data into story driven narratives
• Experience with Azure or AWS preferred
• Proven analytical skills
• Problem-solving attitude
• Strong interpersonal, communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities at once
• Microsoft PL-300 Certification
• Azure DP-900 Certification
• Experience with a scripting language (Python, R, etc.)

Compensation

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a short-term consulting engagement, with an hourly range of $45-$70. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
