Medical Assistant

DISC Sport & Spine Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to assist one of our well-known Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine Physicians. This position will work out of our Newport Beach location Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm. 

In this role, you will:

• Obtain vital signs, draw blood, record medical histories, and ensure proper documentation.
• Ensure sterile techniques are followed during minor procedures and wound care, as required.
• Provide patient education on preoperative instructions, discharge plans, and medication usage.
• Monitor patients in the recovery area and report any concerns to the nursing team.
• Assist in the preparation, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including input into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external medical facilities.
• Handle insurance verifications and scheduling of patients.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program or EMT program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
• Google Suite proficiency
• Prior experience in Orthopedic or Pain Management a plus!
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, such as Athena a plus!

Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00/hour
