About the Position:
Sun River Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic team at our Sydney Baer location in New York. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced LMHC to advance their career and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need. As part of the largest community health network in New York State, you will provide high-quality care to a diverse population, addressing a wide range of behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Services: Provide culturally sensitive clinical services including assessment and treatment planning, individual, family, and group psychotherapy, crisis counseling, and community consultation and education.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and timely documentation of client progress, ensuring that all records are up to date according to established procedures.
  • Treatment Coordination: Identify case management needs of clients and work collaboratively with other agency staff and community organizations to meet these needs.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention as necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in need.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of behavioral health programs within the clinic.
  • Clinical Supervision: Participate in regular clinical supervision to support ongoing professional development.
  • Compliance: Follow established clinic policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to all professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Community Outreach: Engage in community outreach efforts to promote mental health awareness and services available at Sun River Health.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of New York.
  • Prior experience in outpatient behavioral health settings is required.
  • Strong commitment to community behavioral health.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varied cultural experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
