About The Opportunity
This position is responsible for leading and training Forklift Operator’s to perform all tasks involved in the movement of products. This position involves driving a powered industrial truck equipped with forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials within the facility.The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
- Demonstrates a commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
- Trains and leads Forklift Operators to:
- Transports finished jobs or goods into correct areas
- Moves pallets of goods for jobs in process to appropriate areas as needed
- Places finished goods which are on a designated pallet to the correct location
- Performs al functions accurately as required in our WMS system
- Reduces errors and safety incidents
- Manages Forklift Operators times and directs the specific jobs
- Communicates with managers to ensure coordination of production lines and provide production lines with all necessary products/components
- Assists supervisors on the production floor to maintain a safe work environment by moving empty pallets to a designated area
- Provides back up to Receiving Manager to include receiving shipments and certifying operators on the lift trucks
- Loads / Unloads trucks of components/products daily
- Updates warehouse management system with products received. Verifies lot’s, count and enters all products and components in warehouse management system. Delivers according with company SOP’S.
- Puts away all products and components and removes End of Run pallets
- Verifies that all incoming pallets are heat treated pallets
- Picks materials for QA (First Article)
- Verifies all documentation (BOL, Packing List, Exp. Date) for accuracy
- Reports delivery issues
- Notifies Receiving Manager of any mechanical or material issues
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- General knowledge of GMP/SOP regulations.
- Minimum 1+ year operating a forklift in a warehouse/production environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to lead, train and direct a team
- Ability to work in a production environment
- Ability to interpret written and oral instructions
- Ability to produce at a high level
- Ability to work with plant management for required results
- Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job
- Ability to operate forklift safely navigating through all areas of the facility
- Ability to process information and merchandise through RF Gun system
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates and members of management
- Ability to read, count, and write to complete required documentation
- Knowledge of GMP regulations, and Safety regulations
- Moderate degree of problem solving.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to maintain a forklift certification
- Must be able to work weekends and extended hours when necessary
The expected salary range for this position is $24/hour. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short- and Long-term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
