Job Summary:
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC)’s Bedford County Hospital (VBCH) diagnostic laboratories team, located in Shelbyville, Tennessee (TN), is seeking to hire a PRN Phlebotomist, whom will have responsibilities for providing a systematic collection of blood (venipuncture) and urine specimens for patients and delivery to the appropriate laboratory section.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collecting venous and capillary whole blood specimens
• Chain of Custody urine and venous blood specimens
• Accessioning, labeling, procuring specimens for testing and transport
• Registering patients and placing or deleting test orders in EMR/LIS, operation of LIS
• Assisting technologists and Administrative Laboratory Director with laboratory operation as requested and where appropriate as checked competent
