The Navigation, Intelligence & Connectivity Division in San Diego, CA is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist who is willing to work in a collaborative environment and is interested in expanding their horizons. This position will work in our San Diego, CA location.

What You Will Get To Do:

Responsibilities:

  • Develops RFQ utilizing Specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.

  • Prepares bid packages, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates PO provisions, administers resulting PO and ensure on time delivery.

  • Manages performance of Purchase Orders and assigned suppliers, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, planning, operations, program and end-users.

  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.

  • Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through proactive supplier management

  • Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years OR a Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field

  • Experience in a MRP system, SAP, CostPoint, Oracle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP procurement systems

  • Experience with challenging suppliers and subcontracts / long term agreements

  • Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications

  • Experience in small and complex machining or electronics commodities

  • Experience reading technical drawings and documents

  • Experience with government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)

Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00
