Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a Business Group Leader-Central Region to oversee the management and expansion of GHD's EHS practice in the Central Region. This position entails overseeing the EHS Group, aiding in business development, and enhancing client relationships. It also requires offering technical leadership and nurturing key client connections. Specific responsibilities include:
EHS Business Group Leader: 40%
• Manage regional EHS business group including driving financial performance and monitor key metrics, lead recruitment of new staff and mentor team leaders.
• Collaborate with senior members of the business groups and other leaders in GHD to achieve business outcomes.
• Assist in developing and implementing business plans.
• Develop and mentor senior leadership within the Business Group (40% of the allocated time).
Market/Client Leader: 60%
• Developing Central Region’s business strategy, with a focus on long-term opportunities that align with GHD’s growth aspirations.
• Working collaboratively with key client relationship managers to lead business development efforts while collaborating with global, national and regional leaders to build a unified approach.
• Understanding market trends, with a forward-looking strategy toward future projects and emerging technologies.
• Understand the current expertise of the EHS team and based on client feedback and/or market trends (service lines), identify and develop service enhancement to meet present or future needs and transformation opportunities.
• Strengthening relationships with new and existing clients while expanding GHD’s presence in the EHS sector across the region, and the Americas, consistent with GHD’s enterprise strategy and business plans. Providing leadership on key client accounts.
• Driving innovation by integrating Digital and Advisory services into energy market offerings, with a focus on EHS and GHG management
• Collaborating with other Market Leaders and Client Managers across sectors to win multidisciplinary projects
• Representing GHD at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, while elevating GHD’s brand
• Attracting top talent to grow and strengthen the EHS capabilities
• Support business development, sales, and marketing with a focus on strategic key clients. Lead pricing, scoping, and win strategies for major opportunities. Integrate Advisory and Digital into client solutions (60%)
Performance:
• Strong contribution to the development of and participation in revenue generation, across all areas of the EHS compliance business (15% growth year-over-year)
• Represent Business Group on the Leadership Team and actively participate in meetings.
• Sustainable growth of the Business Group's net revenue.
• Drive financial performance with respect to contribution. Monitor and manage backlog, utilization, DSO, variances, and markups.
• Manage and mitigate risks within the Business Group.
• Support regional initiatives, including new processes, new system rollouts, etc.
• GHD Management Systems for Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Environment.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and GHD team.
• Ensure technical soundness of work produced by the Business Group
Required experience and qualifications include:
• Bachelor and/or master’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline
• Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in engineering design projects
• Technical Leadership with experience in digital transformation skills
• Experience developing, managing, and measuring financial performance metrics, with preference to those that can demonstrate some formal training in this area
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff
• Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills
• Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
• A self-starter with sound judgment and decisiveness
