The Executive Specialist 2 management service position provides high-level executive support to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Office of Information Services, who leads an organization of over 662 staff and manages a $298 million biennial budget. The CIO leads the Office of Information Services (OIS), that provides a portfolio of IT services for Oregon’s Health and Human Services agencies, making this role critical to the success of statewide technology initiatives that directly impact the well-being of Oregonians.
This position requires a proactive, organized, and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environments. While deep technical knowledge is not required, a genuine interest in IT, a willingness to learn, and the ability to understand the broader context of technology in government are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide confidential executive-level administrative support to the CIO, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and correspondence.
- Serve as a liaison between the CIO and internal/external partners, including agency leadership, legislative staff, and vendor partners.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and briefing materials for executive meetings, legislative sessions, and public engagements.
- Track and manage key initiatives, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring the CIO is informed and prepared.
- Support the coordination of strategic planning efforts, including cross-agency collaboration and alignment with enterprise IT goals.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions and communications.
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture within OIS and executive assistants agency wide.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications: These qualifications must be visible in your application for consideration.
One year of experience performing administrative duties in support of agency projects or programs. Qualifying experience would involve data collection and analysis; project evaluation and/or analysis; interpretation and application of laws, rules, and regulations; or similar experience.
