Job Summary

The BI Analyst is responsible for creation and maintenance of both BI and operational reports for the University community. This includes IBM Cognos and Microsoft Power BI development, as well as analyzing transactional source systems to develop, manage, and assist in build of the data warehouse environment. Additionally, this position will be responsible for generating SQL queries to pull data directly from multiple source systems, including the enterprise data warehouse.

Additional Information

The Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team provides a strong business intelligence environment that helps the University make informed and strategic decisions. This groups manages the Enterprise Data Warehouse and provides reporting data access, and training.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$65,000 - $75,000 annual

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelors (or higher) degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Technology, Business Administration, Marketing Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar field.

2. At least three (3) years full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience which includes all the following:
a. Developing and supporting business intelligence or operational reporting solutions, preferably in IBM Cognos, Microsoft Power BI, or similar BI tool.
b. Developing complex SQL queries.
c. Utilizing multiple database types, including but not limited to a relational-style database such as Oracle or SQL.
d. Interacting with end-users and key stakeholders on business intelligence, data warehousing, or operational reporting initiatives
e. Using and/or analyzing data structures in a transactional source system, such as an ERP
f. Using operational and analytical database concepts

Work Hours

Core work hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
2. Distinguish colors on a monitor.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
