Summary of Responsibilities

To provide all aspects of shipping and receiving, proficiently including use of the Company’s integrated manufacturing information systems; all electronic communication and documentation required. While providing leadership and accountability for personnel and productivity of Shipping, Receiving and Material Handlers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of integrated manufacturing system to include:
    • Parcel Management
    • Generate Releases
    • Use and Understand 12-week, 2 week and Production Requirement Spreadsheets
    • Generate Bill Lading/Packing Slips, Pick Lists, Labels, Invoices
    • Create Advance Shipping Notices
    • Understand Customer Part Numbers and Packaging Requirements in Order to Avoid Wrong Deliveries
  • Perform all aspects of Customer Programs to include:
    • Go into customer websites for daily answering procedures.
    • Container Management.
    • Set up Expedites.
  • Perform team support functions to include:
    • Conduct shift carry over with other associates.
    • Support shop floor needs, as required.
    • Promote and assist in team building, demonstrate positive leadership skills and lead by example.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of all incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Utilize Finished Goods Spreadsheet and/or Estimate showing calculated figures to cover truck min/max weight requirements, filling trucks/railcars, holiday coverage, etc.
  • Put together daily paperwork for outgoing shipments.
  • Create Customs paperwork when needed.
  • Notify Area Leader Logistics and/or Materials Manager of any shipping changes when they occur.
  • Communicate with Area Logistics Lead and/or Materials Manager regarding unusual release requirements, shortage of returnables, shipment questions, etc.
  • Ensure all ASN’s are sent and acknowledged by the end of the day.
  • Schedule trucks for shipping
  • Follow shipping procedures and use proper forms.
  • Maintain returnable container inventory tracking.
  • Maintain customer delivery performance ratings.
  • Work with cycle count inventory
  • Serve as back up to Area Lead Logistics and other purchasing/shipping associates as needed.
  • Ensure that all documented shipping procedures are updated as needed.
  • Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example.
  • Attend Customer and other required training.
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities.
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating Systems, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Able to analyze current procedures used for the job and make improvements.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
