About the Role:
In this critical engineering leadership position, reporting to our Head of Subscriptions Engineering, you will work closely with your business, product, and design counterparts as well as data science and data engineering peers to deliver a world-class consumer internet subscription experience (Quizlet Plus) that drives our large and growing business.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Denver, New York, and San Francisco offices.

About the Role:

In this role you will:
- Lead the cross functional engineering team responsible for critical user facing features, back-end services, and infrastructure for subscriptions and payments
- Prioritize short-term and long-term goals, along with architectural trade-offs, to ensure the team is able to deliver quality results while meeting the team’s deliverables
- Provide strong architecture and design leadership
- Collaborate and build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product Management, Design, Business Operations, and Finance
- Hire, coach, and promote a diverse and talented team of fullstack engineers and managers
- Be a critical leader contributing to Quizlet’s broader success
What you bring to the table:
- At least 1 year of experience with subscriptions or payments engineering
- 4+ years experience successfully leading, managing, and coaching multiple engineering teams
- 10+ years of total software development experience, including back-end design and architecture for transactional systems
- Strong interest in developing technical and people leaders, supporting career development
- Infectious enthusiasm about building a highly successful and growing consumer business
- Experience leading teams of 6+
- Ability to develop a results-driven culture focused on core values of ownership and accountability

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $170,000 - $265,000, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
