Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking to hire a Telecommunications Supervisor. The ideal candidate will serve as working supervisor, executing and controlling a statewide program responsible for coordinating apprehension functions between personnel. In addition, they will confirm all legal issues are adhered to, provide transmittals of written information to management officials, coordinate staff engaged in the preparation of warrants, communications, memos and letters, and administer the Telecommunicator Training Program at the communications level. Essential Functions

  • Serves as working supervisor.
  • As a Telecommunications Supervisor, executes and controls a statewide program responsible for coordinating apprehension functions between Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) and Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) personnel.
  • Ensures all Illinois Department of Corrections legal polices are adhered to related to warrant procedures.  
  • As the hub communication center for the department, provides transmittal of written information regarding activity relating to the IDOC/DJJ facilities to top management officials.
  • Coordinates staff engaged in the preparation of warrants, communications, memos, and letters.
  • Administers the Telecommunicator Series Training Program at the entry level, providing on the job training of new employees.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably
