Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to support a high-profile data center construction project. What You'll Do
As the on-site safety leader, you'll work closely with the owner, contractors, and project teams to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive construction site.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the project owner by providing professional construction safety oversight throughout all phases of construction.
- Partner with project leadership, contractors, and subcontractors to build and maintain a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct daily field inspections, safety observations, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Identify safety concerns, recommend corrective actions, and verify completion.
- Lead critical safety processes including:
- Pre-Task Planning (PTPs)
- Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Permit-required work
- High-risk activity reviews
- Facilitate site orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
- Mentor field personnel on OSHA requirements, electrical safety, and construction best practices.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings and project safety reviews.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, inspection records, and project documentation.
- Promote continuous improvement while supporting a Zero Incident safety culture.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction safety experience representing an Owner on active construction projects.
- Data center, mission-critical, or hyperscale construction experience is required.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical safety practices in energized construction environments.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
- Proven ability to influence contractors, project leadership, and field personnel.
- Strong hazard recognition, incident prevention, and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety management platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- NFPA 70E certification or demonstrated electrical safety experience.
- BCSP certifications including CHST, STS-C, ASP, or CSP.
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 certification.
- Degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or a related fie
