The Registered Nurse (RN) works in multiple physician offices to provide professional nursing care for patients including assessment, treatment, care planning, medical care evaluation, and education by following established standards and practices. The RN float assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care and functions as a liaison between patients, staff, and providers.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Pulmonary Rounding is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, medical care evaluation, and education by following established standards and practices. The RN is expected to exhibit an elevated level of decision-making and provide educational and clinical support for patients and other support staff. The RN will serve as physician support during inpatient rounding, input discharge orders, medication orders, coordinate follow-up appointments, and triage consults. The RN assists providers and coworkers in coordinating patient care and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, providers, and inpatient/outpatient coworkers.

A more personal approach to patient care with evidence-based approach
Collaborate with the Critical Care Physicians to round on hospital patients and assist with procedures, triage clinical presentations, review and escalate radiology results, coordinate care with multiple specialties, and discuss ongoing patient care and treatment plans as directed by the Physician and other healthcare providers
Educates patients, families, and caregivers on diagnosis, medications, procedures, treatment plans, and updated care plans including nutrition status, mobility and respiratory support
Enters patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) system and uses EHR and other software systems to manage and document procedures, progress notes with detailed impressions and plans and updated patient medical history.
Review and update medication lists, including recommendations for GI prophylaxis and DVT prophylaxis
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Associate's Degree
Preferred Bachelor's Degree
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board
2 years ICU experience - Highly Preferred
