Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a safety 1st culture at all times, upholding all policies, practices, procedures, and standards as well as encouraging a “Safety 1st” mindset.
- Demonstrates a culture of quality within the department, working with team members to determine Root Cause, Corrective Actions, etc. while maintaining ISO, ASTM, and Customer standards.
- Oversee carbon tube mills, ensuring that customer quality and on time delivery needs are met or exceeded.
- Ability to effectively manage team members across all 3 shifts, ensuring that actions comply with company policies and standards.
- Ensure that best practices are being followed on the floor, and coach team members to improve continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and have strong team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, effectively manage, and set productivity, quality, and safety targets for each area to ensure department goals are being met.
- Ability to understand, plan, and organize changeovers, tooling, consumables, and spare parts.
- Ability to assess project and resource requirements, as well as organize predictive and preventative maintenance of production equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot Tube Mills and related ancillary equipment.
- Coach employees in weak areas of their performance; council and correct behaviors not conducive to a safety-first culture.
- Schedule and approve overtime, vacation, etc. for team members across 3 shifts, and submit any personnel requests as needed.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies/procedures for operators.
- Ability to understand production reporting and balancing of jobs.
Qualifications:
- Experience Supervising or Managing 20+ employees.
- 5-10 years of direct experience Supervising, in the steel tube making industry preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution preferred.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
- Experience implementing lean/5S manufacturing, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while regularly hitting deadlines.
- Knowledge of Tube Mills, Packaging lines, Cut-Off presses, HF Welding, and ID Scarfing
- Knowledge of KPI’s that drive operations.
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. as well as learning SATG ERP system.
