Summary

The Inventory Supervisor assists the Shipping Manager to ensure inventory controls, counts, policies and standard procedures are adhered to by system review and monitoring the onsite inventory control team. The team is responsible for planning, organizing, receiving, and storing customer and company owned materials. This associate and team uses the company inventory software, NAV, to monitor, maintain and ensure correct levels and accurate inventory counts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with the Shipping & Receiving staff to ensure inventory moves are being properly, counted, processed, and recorded in the NAV system according to company and customer contractual agreement
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with company safety procedures
  • May make recommendations for process improvement
  • Monitors inventory counts daily in the NAV system and runs reports to identify errors by comparing counts against work instructions (i.e., bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records)
  • Performs root cause analysis to identify the root cause of cycle count discrepancies and communicates the cause to Management to develop corrective action for coaching/training
  • Investigates customer complaints
  • Creates and maintains the master map; assigns cycle counts of inventory and may adjust inventory levels up to 10%, if necessary, when confirmed and approved by Senior Management and CSMs
  • Submits inventory records to accounting/CSMs in a timely manner and resolves discrepancies regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
  • Communicates inventory status or discrepancies to Production Management, CSMs, Accounting
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of inventory team associates. Maintains personnel schedule and staffing levels to control inventory planning. Interviews and recommends inventory control associates for hire and ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse or inventory control experience, including 1 year of lead or supervisory experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience using NAV or similar ERP system
  • Forklift certified and able to drive other various material handling equipment required
  • Must understand inventory systems and purchase order software
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the entire Microsoft Office suite
  • Able to operate packing machinery
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Perform all work and activities with honesty and integrity

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 40 pounds.
