Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Yukon Program Manager to lead the development and delivery of hardware and software for the Yukon program in El Segundo, California.

This role is focused on design, production, integration, test, and delivery of space systems at Boeing. This program supports a critical mission area for an external customer.

The ideal candidate is a technical and strategic leader with experience in delivering hardware. The position requires (1) leading engineering team to design systems that meet Customer requirements, (2) interfacing with internal Boeing organizations and suppliers, (3) leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve SOW objectives, (4) executing the principles of program management to achieve cost and schedule targets, (5) building and maintaining relationships with Customers, and (6) supporting any new business activities related to the program.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to work within broad and minimally-defined technical and programmatic areas and effectively lead integrated efforts. Clear and concise, written and oral communication of complex subjects to Boeing leadership and all levels of customers is required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads team to complete design, build, test and delivery on current generation of hardware.
  • Leads team completing the design of the next generation of hardware.
  • Teams with Global Sales and Marketing (GS&M) to complete bid and proposal on next generation of hardware.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and teams.
  • Reports program status and metrics to senior Customer and Boeing leadership.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, partners, management and direct reports.
  • Develops the next generation of IPT leads and program managers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • More than 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • More than 5 years of experience working on satellite ground/spacecraft systems.
  • Technical project/program management experience.
  • Experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects.
  • Experience with financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience building positive relationships, collaborating effectively, and communicating clearly.
  • Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership.
  • Experience in the implementation and use of Program Management Best Practices.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+5 years' related work experience, Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.)

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
