Our Mainframe Services team is focused on ensuring the smooth running of service in production. Our goal is to ensure that the banking and insurance business has reliable and cost-effective environments that meet the needs of its applications. We also make sure that development and test environments and tools meet the needs of both development projects and agile teams.
What is the role like?
As a Product Owner, you will be part of our Mainframe Services team, which is responsible for the banking and insurance mainframe environments and their subsystems. Our team is also responsible for the maintenance and development of these Infrastructure Services. Our work emphasizes teamwork and communication with both team members and our strategic partners, as well as communication to users. We provide platform as a service to users.
As a Product Owner, you guide the team's priorities and are responsible for inter-team collaboration within your area of responsibility.
In your workflow, you are responsible for operational-level service management. This includes ensuring service production through a high-quality change management process. Good preparation in change process ensures continuity and production quality. You will act as an approver for change proposals made by the service provider and act as the customer's representative at supplier meetings. You monitor application performance based on reports and monitoring and make suggestions for improvement. You follow the overall status of production in our area of responsibility. You prepare contracts and participate in contract negotiations as a representative of your own area of responsibility.
Together with the team, you are responsible for ensuring that the service we receive, complies with the agreements and the requirements of the authorities and security. Our team is also responsible for reporting and mitigating risks.
You will represent our area of responsibility at production change management meetings and attend tribe’s agile ceremonies as a representative of our team, following an agile approach. You will also be involved in reviewing invoices and analyzing monthly peak loads, as well as continuously improving monitoring and reporting. You work smoothly together with other team members being there for each other when necessary.
What do we expect from you?
We are listing below what kind of experience and skills are needed for this position:
• The ability to identify needs and streamline our operations, e.g. being a driver for change.
• Service management experience in multi-vendor environment. You know what operational service management means in a business-critical production environment. You know the processes of change management and disruption management. You know what HA and IT resilience means in practice and you are familiar with terms like RTO and RPO.
• You have evidence of a role in which you have been responsible for the work management of experts. You have strong experience (around 10+ years) and proven track record in an IBM mainframe infrastructure and you have worked with the following technologies: IBM Zos operating system, CICS transaction processing system, DB2 and IMS database systems, IBM Z Cyber Vault resiliency protections, Safeguarded copies solutions, and IBM ZD&T virtual environment solutions.
You have good oral and written communication skills in English and preferably in Finnish. Our working language is English. You are used to operating in a multicultural environment.
