SUMMARY OF THE ROLE 
Reporting to the Manager, LNG Planning & Logistics, this role supports the development and optimization of the LNG cargo lifting schedule. The position works closely with production operations, marine, and contract management teams to manage inventory, meet contractual commitments, mitigate operational risks, and maximize value for NextDecade.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Testing and delivery of NextDecade’s internal lifting schedule and cargo management system.
  • Developing bespoke tools, statistical analysis, and KPI tracking for NextDecade’s commercial commitments
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the annual LNG lifting schedule, considering operational risks, inventory, and commercial obligations.
  • Analyze and report on commissioning scenarios and open volume modeling to support planning decisions.
  • Evaluate and implement schedule changes, proactively managing operational challenges and minimizing commercial risk.
  • Coordinate vessel logistics with the marine team and communicate schedule changes across internal teams.
  • Collaborate with trading, shipping, and optimization teams to identify spot cargo opportunities.
  • Support the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and systems to ensure the smooth development and delivery of the dynamic LNG cargo lifting schedule 

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics / scheduling, marine / terminal operations, or engineering within the energy industry
  • Undergraduate or graduate level degree in an engineering, operations, or other quantitative field
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and analytical techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate across functional boundaries
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines, and a team-first collaborative mentality

Preferred Requirements:

  • LNG experience preferred
  • Advanced analytics and coding expertise (Python, VBA, or similar), with experience leveraging AI-enabled tools or models to scale insights, automate workflows, and support business decisions preferred
  • Strong commercial & operational acumen preferred
  • Knowledge of LNG plant operations and marine activities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
