Department Overview:
Gas Investments for the Future is part of the Gas Strategy Execution and System Planning (GSESP) organization, which addresses PG&E's True North Strategy call for boldly shaping the future. PG&E's gas strategy seeks to evolve the natural gas pipeline and storage system to be an affordable energy delivery platform consistent with decarbonization goals.
GIF ensures PG&E invests prudently in its natural gas system and reduces near-term and long-term costs. This is achieved by retiring or downrating gas assets in lieu of traditional asset risk mitigation methods where it is cost-effective and while still maintaining system capacity standards. GIF also houses the Alternative Energy Program which seeks to convert customers to other energy sources, primarily electricity, enabling assets to be retired cost effectively.
GIF’s mission is critical to PG&E’s gas strategy and targets the following outcomes:
- Affordable gas service
- Customer and investor trust
- Decreased risk
- Reduced greenhouse gas emissions
Position Summary:
Responsible for program management, strategic planning, budget planning, and work effectiveness for PG&E’s Gas Investments for the Future (GIF) department. Provides oversight, governance, communication, training, reporting, and oversight for the overall process and project management. Develops, implements, tracks, and manages plans for assessing and executing gas asset downrate and retirement opportunities. Serve as a GIF subject matter expert for regulatory matters, including rate case filings and regulatory compliance.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Position will require up to 15% of travel time in work schedule.
