Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Facilities Operations Assistant for the Hampton Inn & Suites Xenia Dayton in Xenia, Ohio.
Job Purpose:
The Facilities Operations Assistant supports the daily care, maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the hotel property. This hands-on position assists with preventive maintenance, routine inspections, basic repairs, grounds care, pool maintenance, work-order follow-up, and general property operations.
Working alongside hotel leadership and maintenance personnel, the Facilities Operations Assistant will gain practical experience with the systems and routines required to operate a commercial property. The position is well suited for a college student, trade-school student, recent graduate, or early-career candidate interested in engineering, construction management, facilities management, property management, building systems, hospitality operations, or the skilled trades.
Ultimately, you will help maintain a safe, functional, clean, and welcoming environment for our guests and employees. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they have made the right choice to stay with us.
This is a regular, part-time hourly hotel position and is not part of a formal internship or management-development program.
Essential Functions:
Greets guests and responds professionally to questions and special requests.
Responds appropriately to guest concerns, complaints, or suggestions and refers matters to management when necessary.
Assists with routine inspections of guestrooms, public areas, building systems, equipment rooms, grounds, and exterior areas.
Completes assigned preventive-maintenance tasks and documents completed work.
Supports basic repairs and property-improvement projects within the employee’s training and authorization.
Assists with pool testing, documentation, cleaning, and routine maintenance after completing required training.
Helps maintain the hotel’s grounds, parking areas, exterior entrances, storage areas, maintenance spaces, hallways, stairwells, and public areas.
Identifies maintenance concerns and communicates them promptly to the appropriate department or supervisor.
Assists with work-order tracking, prioritization, documentation, and follow-up.
Helps organize and maintain tools, equipment, supplies, replacement parts, and maintenance inventory.
Properly uses and maintains assigned tools, equipment, chemicals, and safety supplies according to departmental specifications.
Maintains accurate daily logs, inspection records, pool records, equipment records, and other required documentation.
Coordinates with the front desk and housekeeping teams regarding room readiness, out-of-order rooms, guest requests, and maintenance concerns.
Supports housekeeping operations as a runner, room stripper, bed maker, supply assistant, or public-area attendant when operationally necessary.
Maintains guest privacy and hotel security when entering or servicing guestrooms.
Properly handles lost-and-found items according to hotel policies and security procedures.
Follows company safety procedures, chemical-handling requirements, brand standards, and applicable health and life-safety requirements.
Keeps the immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of significant maintenance concerns, safety hazards, equipment failures, or operational problems.
Performs other appropriate hotel operations duties as assigned by management.
