Summary of Job:

The Regional Sales Manager position reports directly to the National Sales Director and will recruit and professionally manage a regional team of Sales Specialists. Provide leadership and coaching to ensure achievement of business goals through extensive collaboration with internal cross functional stakeholders and external partners using the Company’s marketing strategies as well as managing performance and effective communications with the sales team, internal team members and external customers

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute a strategic Regional Sales Plan that is focused on centers of excellence, key accounts & community Healthcare professionals to support key business drivers while supporting National Brand and Corporate Strategies
  • Provide strong, clear and compliant direction for the achievement of sales goals within the region through collaboration and utilization of marketing plans and pull through managed markets strategies
  • Recruit, hire, train, retain, coach, develop and lead diverse high performing Rare Disease sales professionals to their full potential
  • Manage regional budget and allocate resources as appropriate
  • Monitor external trends and competitive market and share findings with the National Sales Director
  • Develop quarterly/annual pull-through plans and align quarterly sales efforts to meet these annual objectives
  • Fully understand and train region on IC Plan and contest components to ensure performance expectations and goal achievement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside partners such as Institutions, Clinics, GPOs and Networks to maximize disease awareness and sales results
  • Establish relationships with key Thought Leaders and influence networks
  • Manage all areas of the sales team’s performance including selling skills, clinical expertise, collaboration with internal peers and stakeholders, administrative duties and career progression
  • Work on regional and national projects as assigned by the National Sales Director

Job Requirements:

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience 

  • Greater than 3 years of prior first line Sales Management Experience
  • Experience with Specialty Pharmacy and Buy and Bill distribution
  • Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills, including building strong working relationships, and managing and resolving conflict.
  • Demonstrated team player attitude with exemplary cross functional collaborative skills
  • Results oriented / Team oriented
  • Ability to travel up to 60% including overnight travel
  • Proven track record of success
  • Current knowledge of all relevant industry, legal and regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical, legal, regulatory and scientific standards.

Travel Requirements: 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license issued in the US with a clean driving record. This position will involve overnight domestic travel depending on the territory. 

Technical Skills 

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite. 

Non-Technical Skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong work ethic is required. Detail oriented and excellent follow through. Has the ability to flex and deal with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth environment. Has a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop consensus within a multinational organization.
