What you'll be doing:

  • Supports the Acquisition Program Manager (APM) in assessing if programs are within schedule and cost baselines.
  • Staffs Defense Acquisition Executive Summaries (DAES), Monthly Activity Reports (MAR), and supports program management and IMP/IMS reviews. 
  • Oversees the allocation of resources based on program requirements.  
  • Manages meetings, calendars, agendas, and briefings, including providing briefings of program status to senior management.  
  • Determines requirements; develops goals and objectives to accomplish program missions.   
  • Gathers, analyzes, and measures the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition, sustainment, or modification programs utilizing knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques. 
  • Leverages various funding types to advance program objectives  
  • Monitors, mentors, and develops lower-level (Senior, Journeyman) Acquisition Support Specialists and other contractor support personnel in accordance with Government PMO leadership lines of effort, policy, and standard operating procedures.          

Experience:

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Clearance Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field  Years of Experience: 12 years of experience with DoD acquisition programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 Operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework, AFI 63-101/20-101, as well as knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, deployment, and sustainment of weapons systems and associated equipment as well as formulate plans and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule, and performance objectives
  • Understands the different funding types, budgets, and the Central Asset Management (CAM) process

  • Strong working Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite software and project management/scheduling applications such as MS Project 

Preferred Experience:

Preferred Certifications: DAWIA Advanced (formerly Level III) Equivalency in Program Management or Engineering & Technical Management Preferred Education and Experience: Master's degree in Business or related field 
  • 10 years of experience with DoD acquisition programs
