About the role

About us:

PurposeMed was founded in 2020 with the mission of improving access to complex care for underserved communities. We’ve grown to over 200 team members in two years, serving hundreds of patients each month, and are continuing to grow rapidly.

Our first brand, Freddie, is focused on improving sexual health through education, prevention and treatment with a focus on the LGBTQ2S+ community—we’re now the largest HIV prevention service in Canada! Our second brand, Frida, is focused on improving mental health and happiness through education, diagnosis and treatment. Frida is changing the lives of patients with easier access to adult ADHD diagnosis, and fast and affordable treatment.

We are a C100 Fellow, a member of the Lazaridis Institute, and a certified Great Place to Work® (92% of our employees agree)! Our culture is highly mission-driven; our team is passionate about bringing healthcare to those who need it most. Best of all—we have fun doing it.

Who we hope to find:

PurposeMed is looking for a Senior Vice President (SVP) to lead Frida, our mental healthcare service (currently focused on providing ADHD diagnosis and treatment). Frida is growing tremendously: just one year after launching, Frida has become a 60+ person operation, providing 5,000+ consultations monthly. You will have full P&L responsibility and accountability for Frida’s growth and performance. You will coordinate our functional leaders across the organization from Marketing, Product, Clinical, Technology, Product, People, Operations and more to deliver an exceptional experience to our patients.

Though we have an office based in Calgary, this is a remote position open to candidates across Canada.

In this role, you’ll make an impact by:

Leading all aspects of Frida’s operations, including end-to-end ownership of operational KPIs, the P&L (including forecasting), OKRs and Frida’s 60+ team members

Coordinating all shared functional heads (e.g. VP of Marketing, VP of Product) to develop a cross-functional roadmap that ensures Frida continues its aggressive growth while always aiming to deliver unparalleled patient experiences

Improving Frida’s existing offerings and services, including its clinical model, product experience, commercialization model and acquisition engine

Gaining a deep understanding of our patients, and strategically launching new services that meet their needs

Developing and driving best practices, communication, and coordination between our executives to collaboratively meet our business need

We need someone who has:

5+ years leading a rapidly scaling product or business line in a performance-oriented, consumer-focused company

The ability to balance attention to detail with swift execution—we need to see measurable results quickly

A "driver" personality—you’re biased toward action, a great collaborator and master simplifier, constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery

Grit—you never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands on; you persevere in times of headwinds and failures

Crystal clear communication—you have the ability to effortlessly synthesize a lot of information, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate actionable insights to all relevant stakeholders

Incredible project management/organization skills—you’ll be managing a wide and varied group of stakeholders with different needs and will need to keep them accountable to budgets and deadlines

The ability to influence without authority—you will need to steer the functional heads of the company without them directly reporting to you, as they are supporting multiple brands (Frida, Freddie, Affirming Care)

Experience forecasting a full P&L, including revenue and expenses, and delivering timely and actionable reporting (and progress towards goals) to an executive team

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

A passion for PurposeMed's mission and solving healthcare challenges for underserved communities

Do you think you could be our next SVP, Frida? We look forward to seeing your application!

Why you should join us:

Be part of a team of great people who don’t take themselves too seriously. While we’re serious about the problems we solve, we believe in having fun along the way.

Make an impact, every single day. We’re providing compassionate, affirming care to many people who have never received care for their condition.

Receive great benefits from your first day of work. We offer plenty of paid time off, a parental leave top-up program, group benefits, learning stipends and other perks.

Work flexibly, from anywhere across Canada.* W
