Description
The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of recording and analysis of human invasive electrophysiology, including time series analysis, spike sorting and statistical modeling in the domains of memory and decision making. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Preferred applicant should have 3-5 years of postdoctoral experience.
Responsibilities may include working with the Principal Investigator on designing, carrying out, and analyzing complex electrophysiological experiments in the area of human memory and decision making.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop independence in the areas of experimental design and data analysis, as well as preparation of grants and manuscripts.
