Job Description

The Children's Care Network Internship with our pediatric clinically integrated network offers a unique opportunity for a driven intern to learn about and support value-based care initiatives. The intern will focus on analyzing clinical performance data and developing strategies to improve patient outcomes and network efficiency. The intern will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, strategic planning, and effective communication within a healthcare network, enhancing their understanding of value-based care and population health management.

Responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to a strategic plan addressing a specific clinical issue impacting population health, such as asthma, behavioral mental health (BMH), social determinants of health (SDOH), or autism, based on the network’s current needs.
- Delivering a comprehensive report detailing data analysis findings and a strategic plan with targeted interventions
- Presenting findings and proposed strategy to the network leadership team

Measurable outcomes will be assessed by the successful completion of the strategic plan to meet one of the network’s 2026 goals. Other projects and tasks will be assigned as appropriate.

The Children's Summer Intern Program allows interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience related to their field of study by working on meaningful projects alongside Children’s professionals. Intern responsibilities may include project management, event planning and support, logistics, data base management, research, and analysis. Interns may explore career paths and apply for full-time positions upon successful completion of the program.

Experience

• Research area: research experience necessary either through previous internship, work experience, or course work; practical knowledge about the conduct of research principals required

Preferred Qualifications

• Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Data Analytics, or related field
• Experience working with healthcare and/or financial data

Education

Clinical Focus:

• College student with at least two years in a health sciences related program, such as pre-med, nursing, biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry, or statistics, or post graduate student working toward a Master’s of Science in public health or medical degree

Non-Clinical Focus:

• College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field, required
