Adjunct Faculty: Applied Music - Voice

About the role

Concordia University Ann Arbor is seeking part-time adjunct faculty in Applied Voice in the Music Department of the School of Arts and Sciences. The appointment will begin in the Fall 2024 semester upon the hiring of a suitable candidate and may be a renewable position. Specific areas that need to be filled include:


MUS 2303/3303 - Applied Voice Lessons


Successful candidates will be expected to schedule lessons (flexible times) with all studio students, develop a rigorous curriculum for individual musical development that includes both technical and expressive studies, prepare students for regular performance in juries and recitals, assess students' progress in alignment with the Music Department handbook, and complete other compensated duties as assigned by the Director of Vocal Activities, Music Department Chair, or Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.


Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a Master's degree in music performance from an accredited institution with an appropriate specialization in oboe, or demonstrate significant professional performance experience with a Bachelor's degree in music.
  • Evidence of successful studio teaching experience.
  • Evidence of successful recruiting of private studio students is highly desired.
  • Membership in a Christian church

Compensation

This is a part time position. Salary is based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate within the parameters for per-credit applied music lessons set by the University.
