Job Summary:

The Facility Service Worker position is an essential part of the Department of Culture, Parks, and Recreation. Facility Service Workers are responsible to set up facilities (e.g., tables and chairs) for special events and/or programs as well as being a department representative for evening events and to keep the Island Grove buildings clean and well maintained before, during and after events. They are also responsible for regular cleaning and maintenance including scheduled deep cleaning, as well as performing some minor maintenance tasks consisting of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall and minor repairs to the facilities. 

Responsibilities primarily fall into two areas: custodial and setup/teardown. Specifically, the Facility Service Workers are responsible to set up facilities (e.g., tables and chairs) for special events and/or programs as well as being a department representative for evening events and to keep the Island Grove buildings clean and well maintained before, during and after events. They are also responsible for regular cleaning and maintenance including scheduled deep cleaning, as well as performing some minor maintenance tasks consisting of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall and minor repairs to the facilities. Experience, Education, and Skills include Education, Certifications, Licenses & Equip.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

Minimum Requirements:

• One (1) to two (2) years of customer service experience. 

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Possess a valid driver’s license held for a minimum of two (2) years with a good driving record.

OR 

• Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job,

AND 

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

• Bilingual – English/Spanish.

• 2 years plus of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of maintenance and minor repair as it relates to public buildings.

• Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal.
