Instructional Designer
Overview
As an Instructional Designer within the team, you will leverage your expertise in instructional design, digital content creation, and project management to develop, implement, and evaluate training programs that enhance the capabilities of global security teams. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and cross-functional partners to deliver engaging, effective, and scalable learning solutions aligned with organizational goals and security standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement instructional materials for classroom, e-learning, and webinar training programs focused on security operations and procedures.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and trainers to assess learning needs, define learning objectives, and create engaging content.
- Utilize a variety of digital tools and platforms to author, edit, and review training content, including documents, videos, and interactive modules.
- Storyboard training content and learning experiences to ensure clear instructional flow and engaging learner journeys.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects related to training and development, from initial outline to full implementation.
- Support the administration and delivery of training programs, including scheduling, logistics, and learner communications.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics; recommend improvements based on data analysis.
- Maintain and update training documentation, protocols, and standard operating procedures to ensure alignment with operational needs and compliance standards.
- Provide ongoing communication of project status, issues, and risks to team leads, internal security teams, and management.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support onboarding, continuous learning, and professional development.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in instructional design, training development, or project management within a security or technical environment.
- Proficient in instructional design principles, e-learning development, and digital content creation.
- Experience with storyboarding for training and instructional content.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Experience with physical security hardware/software products is a plus.
- Vendor management experience is desirable.
- Ability to quickly learn and master new technology platforms.
Preferred Tools & Systems
- Experience with the following platforms is highly desirable: Metamate AI and Gemini AI for content review and editing
- Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Sites) for documents and templates
- Google Vids, Powtoons, Vyond Video, and Adobe Premiere Suite for video creation and content authoring
- Adobe Firefly for AI imagery
- Articulate for digital content authoring
- Workday Learning and Cornerstone Learning Management System for training administration
- Envato and Genially for content creation and development
- MS Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Tools for root cause analysis, industry benchmarking, survey evaluation, and data interpretation
- Experience with physical security or security systems such as CCure or Genetec is a plus
