Overview
Oversees, manages, and leads programmatic initiatives and the daily operations for the Office of the Mayor.
Essential Functions
1 Directs the activities of the Office, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and or service offerings
2 Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work.
3 Collaborates with all stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of major City of Dallas initiatives.
4 Maintains strategic community partnerships; and represent the Mayor at meetings and/or standing boards, and/or on standing boards, and commissions.
5 Understands the Texas Election Code, Texas Ethics Commission guidance, the City’s Code of Ethics, and Dallas City Charter provisions relating to political activities.
6 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1 Knowledge of modern principles and practices of city government public administration.
2 Knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of a large city providing a variety of services to the community.
3 Knowledge of diverse communities within the City of Dallas.
4 Must possess strong organization and time management skills.
5 Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
6 Problem solving and decision-making skills.
7 Effective oral/written communication skills.
8 Microsoft Office Suite or similar software skills.
9 Ability to follow methods and techniques of conducting research.
10 Ability to follow principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation.
11 Ability to lead supervision and training.
12 Ability to understand the Texas Election Code, Texas Ethics Commission guidance, the City's Code of Ethics, and Dallas City Charter provisions relating to political activities.
Experience
At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience working within an elected official’s office providing support, research, and analysis; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

None
Education
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or other directly related business field (including in public administration or business administration).
Language
- Spanish (preferred)
