Join the Loudoun County Department of General Services (DGS) as a Systems Maintenance Technician II and be part of a team that keeps our county’s facilities running efficiently. We are seeking skilled plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians to help maintain and repair critical building systems across various county properties. If you have expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems and want to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, we encourage you to apply!Successful candidates will respond promptly and directly to work requests; diagnose, initiate, and complete minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs in County Government facilities; receive and close-out work requests by computer and/or hand-held electronic device; inspect facilities and report HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems or unsafe conditions; and routinely meet with County employees and supervisors when responding to work requests. Must provide superior customer service at all times.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of related work experience in MEP trades (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred qualifications:
- Prefer one to two years of Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience.
Supplemental information
This position requires criminal, credit, and DMV background checks, including Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprinting. A valid driver's license and good driving record are required (Driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).The successful candidate must:
- Hold or obtain CFC license (Universal Refrigerant Recovery) and forklift license within six (6) months of hire.
- Be able to work in extreme temperatures and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be available to respond to County emergencies (24/7) as directed in accordance with Department policy and written or verbal directive.
- Some work may be hazardous due to location or type of work.
- The successful candidate is subject to recall or being held beyond scheduled workday.
- On-call response to out-of-hours emergency and priority work requests is required on a rotating basis, typically one week on call intervals approximately every six (6) weeks.
