Position Title:
Business Data Systems Administrator IJob Description:
Working under closer supervision, incumbent monitors and provides technical support for essential business software and computer systems. Provides system oversight, data management, and operational expertise to end users, project teams, and senior leadership. Coordinates installation, updates, and maintenance of business platforms and technical systems, including software, system integrations and management of hardware, including mobile electronics and communications devices and/or equipment.Incumbents at this level possess beginning to working-level knowledge of subject matter and handle basic to routine issues and problems.
About the Position:
The incumbent serves as a primary liaison between stakeholders among the various departments, and the City’s Information Management Services (IMS) team on behalf of the Department of the City Attorney; receiving direction, guidance, and prioritization of workload from the Deputy Director of Operations and Administration for the Department of the City Attorney.
About the Team:
The Department of the City Attorney Operations team has been recently created and serves the divisions of the department, with the goal of improving and developing, updating, and coordinating collaboratively with the Deputy Director and other Business Data Systems Administrators working throughout the City.
Position Salary Range:
$59,455/yr. – $102,713/yr.
The established market rate for this position is $81,084/yr.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitors, administers and supports essential business software and computer systems Ensures functionality, reliability and ongoing improvement of those systems. Works with Information Management Services (IMS) in advising, servicing and identifying needs of the staff.
Reviews business requirements and develops functional specifications to ensure that technology solutions support business objectives.
Aggregates and performs statistical analysis on business data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership for use in decision making and organizational efficiency improvement initiatives.
Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed.
Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects.
Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for process improvement.
Assures all business data and systems are secure and adhere to established security standards and policies.
Configures and supports software and hardware.
Manages and serves as the department or division administrator for business systems, including related applications and software.
Implements and maintains tools for monitoring and eliminating systems downtime.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise, implements solutions for problem areas, and performs upgrades.
Manages and serves as a department/division administrator for work group systems. Including Asset and Inventory Management, Service Requests, GIS, etc.
Develops detailed specifications and selects hardware for new solutions based on current and future business needs.
Provides consulting and training to personnel in the business units; and liaises with internal and external parties.
Serves as a liaison between development teams and the internal/external customer or end users.
Communicates requirements to development teams through specifications, statements of work, project plans, or other forms of documentation.
Coordinates with developers, quality assurance teams, and users to test processes and ensure functionality and user acceptance.
Develops user documentation or training materials, as needed.
