Research Scientist Intern (Traffic Infrastructure Global Engineering) - 2025 Summer/Fall (PhD)

Responsibilities

The TIGE (Traffic Infrastructure Global Engineering) team serves as the world's premier edge cloud computing and CDN service, offering enterprise users with Content Delivery Network, Edge AI, Edge Security, Edge Computing services, and Traffic Platform services. Our team is responsible for developing and managing edge cloud, CDN and traffic technologies to support billion users and ensure performance, compliance, security and cost efficiency. In line with our commitment to excellence, we are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2025. Responsibilities
1. As a PhD intern, you will focus on researching and developing advanced algorithm or system to enhance TIGE's system in performance, efficiency, resource allocation, and feature capability.
2. You will be working with one of our expanding domains like CDN, edge cloud infrastructure, traffic platform and AI technologies with edge computing.
3. With an in-depth understanding of one of those domains, you are responsible for proposing and developing an advanced, while practical solution to enhance our focused metrics like cost efficiency, traffic optimization, virtualization performance, as well as other more comprehensive metrics, like availability or stability, and resource efficiency.
4. You are expected to collaborate with a team and lead the full lifecycle of project development, including industry cutting-edge technology trend investigation, solution design, implementation, and validation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong independent thinking, problem solving capability.
- Experience with programming languages like Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, or similar.
- Knowledge of algorithms and software development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualification:
- Background in networking, load balancing, distributed systems or large scale dynamic systems.
- Knowledge of performance metrics, data/cost modeling and real-time systems.
- System virtualization in VM, container, or networking.
- Experience with kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- AI platform, AI workload engine, or AI specific infrastructure.
