About Flutter UKI
Flutter UK & Ireland are the UKI region of Flutter Entertainment. They unite a dozen brands including powerhouses Paddy Power, Betfair, Tombola and Sky Betting & Gaming, bringing together hundreds of teams and thousands of colleagues, who create trusted entertainment for millions of customers every week.
Role Overview:
This role covers a broad level of responsibilities with a remit based on experience & size of tribe. Leads a number of cross functional Product Engineering Teams to develop products that realise customer and commercial outcomes. Takes responsibility for a collection of squads working on one or many roadmaps. Ensuring the squads are set up to succeed. Ensures all squads have effective CI CD pipelines, and coach squads to use Agile, Dev-Ops techniques in order to build, test & release their own applications. An experienced leader of people, they manage teams and managers and take responsibility for ensuring that squads are aligned and engaged with the roadmap.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Lead, inspire and motivate a group of and Engineering Managers and Software Engineers, coaching them and supporting them in leading their teams.
Take responsibility for ensuring every team member has 121s, clear objectives, performance reviews and career development plans
Help to build a culture of high performance, which is results oriented with a keen eye for detail
Responsible for measuring and achieving high levels of employee engagement, maximising retention of team members
Has a deep understanding of how the squads operate, understanding dependencies and how they come together to deliver an experience to our Customers
Execute, plan & manage team changes in order to meet business goals & customer needs.
Continuously improves processes through automation, implementation of common standards and checklists
Foster an appropriate sense of urgency, where squads deliver at pace and deadlines are met
Actively measure and review Agile squad metrics and software quality to ensure teams are high performing
Provide technical direction for design, deployment, testing and deployment, from inception to release.
Serve as a key contact within the squad areas you represent, giving stakeholder updates and being a source of knowledge for the wider business
Use computers or computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write programs, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
To lead and coordinate the specific daily activities of the subordinate team
To approve (within the limit decided together with the Economic Director), coordinate, monitor and submit to senior management the situation of days off and/or leave of staff within the sub-department
o monitor and submit to the senior management the situation of the performances of the personnel within the sub-department
To observe, monitor, resolve and submit to senior management various special situations related to the team he leads, such as: special requests from staff requiring the approval / intervention of the direct manager, various crisis situations, complaints or divergences that may appears in the team
To report to the senior management the progress of the team within the various projects
To guide and assist from a technical point of view the members of the team he coordinates
To interview and select the candidates for the existing vacancies within the team he / she coordinates
