Engine Parts Wash Technician (Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY
This position consists of cleaning engine parts in jet washes, solvent tanks, glass bead, and soda blasting machines. This position has a schedule of 25-29 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for shop and break room clean-up, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
• Responsible for cleaning the piece parts that have been removed and routed to the cleaning department after the engine has been disassembled
• Cleaners are to remove grease build-up, corrosion products, etc., as well as prepare parts for the next overhaul step using various cleaning compounds and chemical solutions, spray guns, brushes, etc.
• Completes forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures
• Responsible for the completion of assigned shop tasks and projects, including providing support to other technicians to complete necessary work in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and neat work environment through proper housekeeping and organization

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Other Requirements: Basic math, verbal, writing and reasoning skills required. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule as needed. Must be a team player and effectively utilize strong communication skills with others in the department and organization. Intermediate mechanical and technical aptitude desired. Technical training in automotive manufacturing a plus.
