Specialist-Registration

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Neuroscience Center

Position Summary:

The Registration Specialist plays a key role in facilitating patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. This position is responsible for collecting and verifying financial and demographic information, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

• Schedule appointments and interview patients to obtain necessary medical and insurance information.

• Explain departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and charges.

• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems and collect necessary payments.

• Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately.

• Ensure accurate and complete patient records to support clinical outcomes and reimbursement.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association preferred.

• 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred; ability to learn and retain medical coding required.

• Ability to interpret insurance information and knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.
