Senior Application Developer

Position Overview

Broughton Partners seeks a Senior Application Developer to join our growing technology team. This role requires deep expertise in software development and AWS cloud experience to support our integrated customer solutions. The ideal candidate will lead complex Salesforce implementations, mentor junior developers, and architect scalable solutions that bridge Salesforce with other cloud infrastructures. This position is non-remote and will be required to be local.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Development

• Design, develop, and deploy custom applications on the Salesforce platform using Apex, and Lightning Web Components (LWC)
• Build and maintain complex integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs
• Implement advanced workflow automation, process builders, and flow configurations.
• Develop custom objects, fields, validation rules, and security models
• Create and optimize SOQL queries and database operations for performance
• Develop and maintain MuleSoft workflows
• Lead technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance for Salesforce solutions

Technical Leadership

• Mentor other developers and conduct code reviews
• Establish development best practices and coding standards
• Lead technical requirements gathering and solution design meetings
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience required, Java is a plus
• 3+ years in a senior or lead developer capacity
• Experience with database design and management (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• 2+ years of AWS experience with services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, EC2, RDS

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Mulesoft
• Salesforce Platform Developer I & II certifications required
• Expert-level proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL
• Strong experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming)
• Experience using Gearset
• Experience with data migration tools and ETL processes
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or higher)
• 2+ years of Amazon Connect experience

• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, and other development team members.
