About the role

​​This is a CONTRACT POSITION.​

​​Compensation:​ 

  • ​​Pay Rate​: ​$65.00/hr.​

​​What You Can Expect​ 

​​The Middle Office Systems & Data Lead is a critical control and enablement role responsible for owning the end-to-end data, systems, and automation layer supporting Middle Office activities across power and gas trading portfolios. 

  • ​Own Middle Office data flows across trading, risk, and finance systems (e.g., Orchestrade and downstream platforms) 

  • ​Ensure data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness for: 

    • ​P&L 

    • ​Valuation adjustments 

    • ​Reconciliations and controls 

  • ​Act as first-line technical escalation for Middle Office system and data issues before central IT involvement 

  • ​Design, build, and maintain SQL- and Python-based automation for: 

    • ​Reconciliations 

    • ​Break detection 

    • ​Data quality checks 

    • ​Control monitoring 

  • ​Reduce manual processes and key-person dependencies 

  • ​Embed preventive and detective controls aligned with internal risk and audit expectations 

  • ​Serve as the primary Middle Office counterpart to: 

    • ​IT (system changes, prioritization, incidents) 

    • ​Market Risk (positions, reserves, metrics consistency) 

    • ​Trading (P&L explain, close processes, valuation governance) 

  • ​Translate business and control requirements into clear technical specifications 

  • ​Support system migrations, enhancements, and process transformations 

  • ​Strengthen Middle Office resilience by: 

    • ​Eliminating single-point-of-failure processes 

    • ​Supporting documentation and knowledge transfer 

    • ​Enforcing consistent control standards 

  • ​Support audit requests, control testing, and remediation actions 

  • ​Contribute to RCSA and operational risk mitigation initiatives​ 

 

 

​​What You’ll Bring​ 

  • ​​Five years of experience in: 

    • ​Energy trading systems 

    • ​Middle Office, Risk, or Trading Operations 

    • ​Systems, data, or quantitative operations roles 

  • ​Direct experience with power and/or gas markets strongly preferred 

  • ​Hands-on experience supporting or operating trading systems (e.g., Orchestrade, Endur, Aligne, Murex, or equivalent) 

  • ​Experience in North American ISOs (ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO) 

  • ​Exposure to operational risk, audit, or control frameworks 

  • ​Prior experience acting as a bridge between business teams and IT 

  • ​Experience in automation or process transformation initiatives 

  • ​High-visibility role with direct impact on trading integrity and risk control 

  • ​Exposure across Front Office, Risk, Finance, and IT 

  • ​Opportunity to build and own the systems backbone of Middle Office 

  • ​Platform role for future growth into Risk, Trading Operations leadership, or Systems architecture​
