The Role at a Glance
The AVP – Head of Internal Sales for Annuities will provide leadership, direction and functional expertise to ensure sales support and results for the Annuities internal sales and BDD team. They will direct and motivate their assigned sales teams and set strategic priorities and activities which will lead to an increase in sales revenue and market share within the Annuities product line.
What you'll be doing
- Provides strategic leadership and direction to continually improve the capability and results for the Annuity sales desks.
- Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Ensures that top talent is hired and retained for their teams.
- Builds organizational capability within the sales desk.
- Contributes to developing internal wholesale strategies which optimize wholesaler productivity. Anticipates and provides strategies/solutions to complex internal wholesale problems or trends.
- Develops, implements and oversees the execution of strategic sales and business plans for assigned area of responsibility.
- Allocates, oversees, and adheres to financial budgets for assigned area of responsibility.
- Collaborates with key internal stakeholders and senior management to identify synergist/cross selling opportunities within the Lincoln Financial Group business portfolio.
- Partners closely with internal stakeholders to align internal sales efforts with external sales strategies.
- Analyzes benchmarks and performance metrics to track and report complex sales plan progress, effectiveness, return on spend and bottom-line impact. Recommends mitigation plans.
- Provides strategic direction and oversight on sales goals and objectives.
- Develops, directs and maintains sales programs, sales promotion and product training meetings for assigned area of responsibility partnering with internal stakeholders.
- Builds, enhances and maintains relationships with sales leadership and external wholesalers to drive sales results and build a comprehensive understanding business, product, and customer experience needs.
- Ensures that new products and/or processes are being implemented throughout the internal desk.
- Develops, manages and oversees budget for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
What we’re looking for
Must-Haves
- 10+ Years experience in Financial Services sales, marketing, and/or relationship management that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior mgmt/critical stakeholders experience
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
- Demonstrates advanced relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues) and external clients; proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches
- Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations
- FINRA Series SIE, 6, 63, L&H Required
- Expected travel 50%
