Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience with Android application development.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience implementing and maintaining shared codebases or multi-client modules.
- Experience with client-side architecture, tooling, and systems that enhance developer velocity and application performance.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead technical investments in client infrastructure to maximize Android developer efficiency and ensure high-quality, high-performance applications. Break down problems into incremental, shippable deliverables for long-term platform health.
- Define and uphold engineering standards for Android and cross-client development across Gmail and Workspace, consistently raising the bar for code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
- Integrate new Android ecosystem tools and mobile frameworks to facilitate the creation of quick and efficient applications for an advanced user experience.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning and technical growth. Participate in team collaboration, mentorship, and problem-solving by working from the office at least 2 days per week.
