Supervisor QC Lab

 

Sun Chemical is seeking a Supervisor for the QC Lab at our Hopkinsville, KY location to ensure effective operations and drive manufacturing performance in all areas of quality. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

• Learn and become proficient in QC processes as well as troubleshooting in-process batches for quality control, batch retain testing, etc
• Utilize SAP to create and manage BOM and Recipe batch data.
• Utilize daily production schedule to create batch tickets for manufacturing
• Leads and directs the QC staff to ensure that the manufacturing process is effectively supported.
• Organizes and conducts departmental and shift meetings necessary for general training and process improvement.
• Ensures that safety and housekeeping awareness are a priority.
• Monitors, tracks, and reports employee attendance, including any allowable overtime, performs annual performance appraisals and takes disciplinary action when warranted.
• Ensures the lab is adequately supplied, equipment maintained, and calibrations accomplished based on QMS program schedule.
• Manages and controls inventory and rework of non-conforming goods. Including dormant material, return product and tanker ink residuals.
• Establishes and maintains verbal and written communication with other departments. Work closely with the production supervisor to ensure production continues to progress to meet customer demands.
• Complete month-end reports accurately and promptly, including but not limited to EPA emissions control reports, Right First-Time reports, etc
• Manage the site customer feedback using attention to detail and ensuring investigation and corrective actions are complete and identified in a manner to improve customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience preferred, HS or GED required
• 3-5 years of related lab supervisory experience required
• Related manufacturing, with preference on chemical manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of safety and SDS programs
• Previous experience supporting manufacturing customer base with focus on project leadership
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP experience preferred
