As a Design Engineering Specialist – Corporate Engineering you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leads the engineering solutions from concept through plant commissioning of medium to high complexity projects working with a team.
Negotiates and implements technology development to provide continuous advancement in web coating, web handling and die station designs. Shares and mentors others in developing this technology.
Determines design scope, cost, and schedule and actively manages work thru to completion.
Supports existing proprietary equipment solutions through on-site troubleshooting globally.
Willingness to travel and support equipment installations.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science, engineering and/or manufacturing discipline AND three (3) years of experience in the design, fabrication, and installation of web coating equipment in a private, public, government or military environment.
ORAssociate’s Degree and/or Technical Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science, engineering and/or manufacturing discipline AND five (5) years of experience in the design, fabrication, and installation of web coating equipment in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience with Solid Model Based CAD.
Self-directed leadership in project management and technology development.
Hands on experience with start-up, troubleshooting and commissioning of Coating & Die Station equipment.
Experience with Siemens NX (Unigraphics) or other advanced solid modeling software.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis or Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling software and its application.
Understanding of rheological properties and the impact of fluid, structural, and thermal analysis in the development of coating dies.
Experience in on-site troubleshooting and commissioning of equipment.
Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to in Maplewood, MN or Brookings, SD at least 3 days per week
Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international
