Requirements
Production Supervisor Objective:
Supervise and lead machine shop floor, following a work schedule; maintain safety standards and providing training and guidance where necessary. Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Production Supervisor Role & Responsibilities
Must possess the ability to motivate, mentor, provide technical direction, and respond to individual employee needs.
Balance quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; working to continuously improve in all areas.
Maintain and enforce safety standards across shop floor.
Exercise good judgment and demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
The ability to be organized and prioritize floor needs.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
This position requires overtime.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
This position operates as a heavy presence on the manufacturing floor. Employee will be responsible for driving a Forklift daily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must lift up to fifty (50) lbs. occasionally.
Education/Experience
High school or equivalent education.
Minimum 5 years of machining experience, preferably with 2 of those years being in supervision.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Forklift experience preferred.
Milling experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attentive to detail; organized.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Monday through Friday 3 p.m. to 12 a.m.
