Job Summary
Job Summary
• Primary responsibility is to support the operation and maintenance of technology assets at the SEAT Center
• Be present and visible in the SEAT Center and provide technical assistance to users
• Respond to technology-related inquiries from staff, faculty, and students; assist with hardware/software incidents and requests
• Learn the operations and functionalities of commonly used assistive software and hardware at the SEAT Center
• Follow established help operating procedures; accurately log all questions with contacts using the help monitoring systems
• Assist with managing migrating the technology inventory to a new, more manageable system, and maintain this system once in place
• Attend all relevant training sessions to stay updated with the latest technology used at the SEAT Center
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the University's technology policies, services, and SEAT Center's staff
• Escalate requests to the appropriate SEAT Center or university technology support staff as necessary
• Support Center Coordinator and SED faculty with integrating assistive and other technology into course curriculum including set up and take down of labs
• Maintain orderliness and professionalism in the SEAT Center
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Center's Administrators or other technology support staff including research projects, as appropriate

Pay Rate
$15/hour
Required Qualifications
• Pleasant demeanor and willingness to assist; good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Ability to provide technical support either remotely or in person professionally; previous customer service experience is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills; able to visualize a problem or situation and devise innovative solutions
• Ability to handle varying flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, multitask effectively during busy times, and maintain patience and professionalism during stressful situations
• Creativity and an out-of-the-box thinking approach to problem-solving
• Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision
• Working knowledge of common operating systems (Windows 10, macOS, and iOS)
• Strong organizational skills
• LBS, LVB, or DHH major, or other disability or education related field
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a leadership/mentor role
• Experience or interest in assistive technology devices and software
• Completed SED 207 with a B or higher
Work Hours
5 hours per week
