Senior/Principal scientists in the FL94 chemistry team will be responsible for triaging and advancing multiple new program opportunities through to pivotal early PoCs and eventual protein editing small molecule development candidates.  All scientists in FL94 chemistry will team up with scientists in ML and proteomics to further expand the reach of our screening platform. 

The preferred candidate will demonstrate most of the following attributes:

• A clear command of classical and modern synthetic methodologies relevant to 21st century drug discovery
• Direct experience with the discovery of orally bio-available heterobifunctional molecules (e.g. PROTACs)
• Deep understanding of the interplay between chemistry and multiparameter SAR development
• A passion to realize ML’s fullest impact on lead identification and advancement
• Successfully completed (delivered or killed) advanced hits progressing from early screening en route to LO program nominations
• Experience in late-stage programs advancing small molecules to pivotal DC-enabling (or terminating) studies
• The grit of a passionate innovator solving today’s problems and creating tomorrow’s opportunities

The successful candidate will have all the following skills necessary to perform in a fast-paced, purposeful, highly integrated, and pioneering environment

• PhD in organic chemistry including and 8+ years relevant pharmaceutical experience
• Experience co-leading programs at any stage alongside non-chemistry functional leaders
• Experience directly managing offshore CRO chemistry maximizing for quality, efficiency, and real-time problem solving.
• Strategic thinker and planner consistent with the business, science, and innovation needs of FL94 with an unmistakable sense of urgency
• Be a thought leader and functional representative in a multi-functional environment tasked with creating first or best in class small molecule editors
• Clear communicator, authentic leadership qualities, open to take and give feedback up, down and across the organization.
